Prioritising sustainability, the scheme features high-efficiency insulation, EV infrastructure, and biodiversity enhancements like bee bricks and 1,000+ saplings. Extensive remediation addressed contamination and flooding. Thoughtfully masterplanned around green space and improved connectivity, the development fosters community spirit while honouring the site’s industrial past through local artwork, nature restoration, and a new documentary.

The project transformed the former Newhaven Police Station into 21 fully electric, affordable homes for Lewes District Council, including accessible units for residents with mobility needs. The constrained town-centre site required complex foundations and innovative service routing, including rooftop photovoltaic arrays and integrated heat pumps. A fabric-first design approach maximised energy efficiency, while sustainability and biodiversity measures—such as bee bricks and swift boxes—were embedded throughout. The scheme delivers low-carbon housing with inclusive design and environmental responsibility.
