MITHRAS STUDENT VILLAGE, UNIVERSITY OF BRIGHTON

LEWES ROAD, BRIGHTON BN2 4QX

Transforming a former carpark into a vibrant new centre for living and learning, Mithras Student Village consists of five new towers arranged over a two-story podium. The towers range in height from eight to eighteen floors and provide 804 student bedrooms and space for a new Student’s Union alongside essential amenities. To minimise impact on neighbouring structures, each of the towers are purposefully staggered and interwoven between the main Mithras building and Preston Barracks. Notably, the tallest tower utilises highly reflective terracotta tiles to conceptually represent the South Downs in the distance.
