HALNAKER HILL FARM
CHICHESTER
Halnaker Hill Farm is transforming 330 acres of intensively farmed land into a major biodiversity project within the South Downs National Park. Guided by historical landscape patterns and the ‘Janus approach’, the team has restored hedgerows, ponds, woodlands, and wildlife corridors, planting over 20,000 trees and creating wildflower meadows. Supported by Biodiversity Net Gain funding, the 30-year scheme balances ecological restoration with commercial innovation. Despite challenging weather conditions, the project has become a nationally recognised model for large-scale nature recovery and regenerative land management.
