BAYSIDE

62 BRIGHTON ROAD, WORTHING BN11 2FJ

Bayside replaces a disused 1960s building with a new, compact, sustainable neighbourhood of 141 homes of mixed tenure across a 15-storey tower and lower blocks of two to six-storeys forming a U-shaped building opening onto the seafront. Public realm enhancements include a beachfront public square with pavilion café, resident’s amenity space, as well as new commercial space facing onto the Brighton Road.

CECIL NORRIS HOUSE

RAVENS ROAD, SHOREHAM-BY-SEA BN43 5AX

The site of the original 1972 Cecil Norris House was part of Adur Council’s drive to increase its affordable housing across the District. Liam Russell Architects were asked to design a building that re-started this programme with a landmark, sustainable proposal – indistinguishable from a developer-led scheme. The new building is three-storeys and contains 15 residential units utilising contrasting and inspiring façade elements.
