SHELTER HALL, KINGS ROAD, BRIGHTON

The Shelter Hall was originally used as a shelter for bathers, and although not itself a listed building, includes a set of Grade II listed handrails that line the upper promenade. This new building is almost double the size of the original, and by including an upper-level pavilion, the restaurant space is increased. A new, curved sea defence wall protects the lower promenade level, now with a vastly improved and more accessible public realm stretching along Brighton’s seafront.
