HIGHLY COMMENDED

BLUE DOORS LODGE SOUTH STOKE, ARUNDEL

A half-acre sloping garden, located within the South Downs National Park, was designed to complement a newly refurbished brick and flint house. The design is strong and modernist in character and overlaid with simple and relaxed planting to create a timeless garden that exploits the views across the Arun Valley.

RIVERHILL HOUSE PETWORTH

The owners of the 17th-century, Grade II listed cottage, wanted a garden that united the house with the stable block, annexe and barn conversion. The brief was to incorporate disparate, hidden spaces to give them a level games lawn and easier route to the swimming pool. Shrubs and a concrete sunbathing platform were removed to reveal the South Downs views.
