A Grade II listed building built in c1750 situated on top of a Scheduled Ancient Monument and unused since 1905. The façade has been restored with a burnt Sussex clay tile finish and mortar torching underneath secured to the brick structure. West Sussex CC have subsequently reinstated the windmill’s sails.

PETWORTH HOUSE TENNIS COURT
The brief was to extend the Real Tennis court to meet the needs and interests of Petworth House Tennis Club, the National Trust and the Leconfield Estate. The design provides modern facilities that are sympathetic to the character and history of the Grade I listed building and its setting.

THE CHARLESTON TRUST’S BARNS AND GALLERIES
The Hay and Threshing Barns had fallen into disuse after a fire in the 1980s. Visible flintwork, timberwork and significant engineering were required to stabilise them. A new building provides art Galleries. Opened in 2018 with a programme of exhibitions, events and a café/ restaurant.

The new Performing Arts Centre provides the day and boarding school with a flexible 370-seat courtyard theatre with the central mass of the auditorium rising in the middle, with four columnar roof vents punctuating the roof ridge, and the ancillary spaces wrapped as a secondary layer around the outside.

THE NUGEE AND WINN BUILDINGS, EASTBOURNE COLLEGE, OLD WISH ROAD, EASTBOURNE BN21 4JY
The aim of the buildings was to provide the College with new sporting facilities, swimming pool, dining facilities, classrooms and social spaces. Located in the College Conservation Area, the sports facilities were sunk into the ground, with the dining hall and classrooms built over the top.

The oriel window at Brighton College is a prominent feature from the George Gilbert Scott designed Grade II listed ‘main’ building which was the first building for the College in 1845. With concerns over the deteriorating condition of the window, it was replaced in its entirety, designed and constructed to match the original.

THE VOLK’S ELECTRIC RAILWAY, AQUARIUM STATION AND VISITOR CENTRE, MADEIRA DRIVE, BRIGHTON
Part of a grander scheme to save a unique part of our heritage – the world’s oldest working electric railway. The project saw the conservation of the original Victorian carriages from 1883. The new station/visitor centre and café were developed formally from a playful interpretation of two train carriages on tracks passing one another.

BATTLE RAILWAY STATION STATION ROAD, BATTLE TN33 0DE
Constructed in 1852, to the designs of architect William Tress, it is widely considered to be one of the finest gothic revival stations in the country. The Grade II listed building required substantial repairs to the chimneys, roofing, rainwater goods and walling stones all whilst the station remained open.

The former Carmelite Convent site in Hunston, West Sussex was built in 1870, had fallen into a dilapidated state following the building being vacated in 1994. The Building was converted to build an ‘all through’ school and to completely renovate the Convent to become the ‘Heart of the School’.
