The new lead covering to the high Quire roof of Chichester Cathedral represents the first phase of a five-year programme to replace the failing post-war copper roof coverings. The new lead covering uses the heaviest sand-cast lead available, requiring great skill and experience to lay. The end result is spectacular.

Site detailing and measuring were a key factor in the production of the intricate stonework. Neale was working from a cherry picker with his drawing pad, tape measures, levels, profile gauges & callipers to give him the essential information he required to produce CAD drawings in 2D & 3D.

GARDEN OF REFLECTION AND RECONCILIATION INCORPORATING A WW1 THEMED CHAINSAW SCULPTURE LITTEN GARDENS, ST PANCRAS, CHICHESTER
The sculpture features two figures depicted as a soldier in the Great War and later as a nurseryman. The sculpture made from an oak tree, represents a Sussex man separated in time by a number of years.

CHRIS MANVILLE, FLINT AND BRICK WORK AND HARD LANDSCAPING FLINT BARN, WARNINGORE HOUSE, EAST CHILTINGTON
Chris Manville, local independent tradesman, worked alone, creatively to support and repair the original flint walls and to re-build new walls. All flints were recycled from site, Chris’s attention to detail and pride in his work is exceptional, numerous colour matching of mortar – to perfection.

LUKE SPENCER, GREEN OAK TIMBER FRAME, FLINT BARN, WARNINGORE HOUSE, EAST CHILTINGTON
The Barn features bespoke green oak timber frame, hand built on site by master craftsmen Dermott Burton and Luke Spencer – local carpenters. Physically demanding, an unusual ring beam which required creative thinking, all hand crafted oak joints. Luke is an ‘artist’ with his creative attention to detail and finishing.
