A Memorable Evening at the Sussex Heritage Trust Biennial Dinner
Last Friday evening, supporters and friends of the Sussex Heritage Trust gathered for a truly special occasion at the historic surroundings of Christ’s Hospital for the Trust’s Biennial Dinner.
Held within one of Sussex’s most remarkable historic settings, the evening brought together many of the wonderful individuals who support the Trust’s work in celebrating and protecting the county’s rich architectural and cultural heritage. It was a fantastic opportunity for guests to reconnect with old friends, meet new supporters and enjoy a memorable evening together.
Guests were treated to an exceptional dinner, followed by an engaging and thought-provoking talk from Matthew Slocombe, Chief Executive of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. His fascinating insights into the work of SPAB and the importance of safeguarding historic buildings provided a fitting reminder of why the Trust’s work remains so vital.
The evening concluded with a lively and highly entertaining charity auction, expertly conducted by Rupert Toovey of Toovey’s Fine Art & Antique Auctioneers & Valuers. Thanks to the generosity of those attending and bidding on the evening’s lots, the auction raised vital funds to support the ongoing work of the Trust.
The Sussex Heritage Trust would like to extend its warmest thanks to everyone who attended the dinner and supported the auction, helping to make the evening such a success.
The Trust is also deeply grateful to the generous sponsors who made the event possible:
-
NFU Mutual Chichester, Horsham and Pulborough
-
Toovey’s Fine Art & Antique Auctioneers & Valuers
Special thanks are also due to the programme sponsors, Fuzzmedia; and to Graham and Sue Flight for their generous donation of the flower arrangements.
It was a truly memorable evening for all who attended, celebrating not only the Trust’s work but also the wonderful community of supporters who make that work possible. The Sussex Heritage Trust looks forward to welcoming many of you to future events in the months ahead.
