Visit to Gravetye Manor Gardens
What a wonderful day we had on Friday 28th April with our visit to the gardens at Gravetye Manor.
Friends and supporters of the Trust were treated to a tour of the gardens with head gardener, Tom Coward. Tom spoke with passion about the history and heritage of the gardens.
Gravetye Manor is an award winning historic hotel and garden in the Sussex High Weald. From 1885 to 1935 Gravetye was home to William Robinson, one of the countries most influential gardeners. Robinson, a prolific garden writer was responsible for pioneering much of todays modern gardening. Throughout his life at Gravetye he developed the garden to test and implement his books, leaving the estate as a living legacy to his genius.
Thank you to all the team at Gravetye for a wonderful tour. We look forward to visiting again soon.
