Spotlight on Sponsors: Valley Builders
- Can you briefly introduce your organisation and tell us what you do?
We are Valley Builders, based in East Grinstead, West Sussex. We specialise in the Conservation and Restoration of Historic Buildings.
- How long have you been operating in Sussex (or connected to the region)?
We have been in East Grinstead since we opened 54 years ago.
- What is your organisation’s connection to heritage, conservation, or the built environment?
My Father started Valley Builders back in 1972, he was born in Sussex and lived on the Ashdown Forest. He had a passion for restoring old buildings and soon started working on local Churches. He soon found himself living and breathing Heritage, as we do to this day.
- What inspired your organisation to become a sponsor of the Sussex Heritage Trust Awards?
We won our first SHT Award in 2018 and wanted to give back to this amazing Charity.
- How long have you been involved as a sponsor or supporter?
We have been a sponsor since 2018; we started by sponsoring the lunch but decided we wanted to sponsor a category. We are currently sponsors of the Ecclesiastical Award.
- What does being a sponsor mean to your organisation?
We are very proud to sponsor the Awards and the Trust.
- Why do you believe it’s important to support heritage projects and organisations in Sussex?
For our Children and Grandchildren. We want to preserve all we can and maintain the traditional skills to do so.
